Virginia Beach City Public Schools participate in both the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. Our cafeteria serves -- to students everyday -- nutritious breakfasts and lunches that meet the established Recommended Dietary Allowances, students' calorie needs, and Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

Prices for breakfast are full price at $1.00 and reduced price at $0.30. Prices for lunch are full price at $1.75 and reduced price at $0.40. A la carte items are offered for sale in addition to breakfast and lunch items. Prepayment of meals is encouraged and that option is available to avoid sending cash daily. Each student is assigned an "account" number to remember when purchasing meals and a la carte items.

Menus are sent home, published in the Virginia Beach Beacon, broadcast on VBTV (channel 48), posted on the school division's Web site -- www.vbschools.com, and listed in the weekend Beacon section of the Virginian Pilot.

CAFETERIA BEHAVIOR
Every student is expected to buy or bring lunch. While eating meals in the cafeteria, all students
are expected to follow these guidelines:
Practice good manners and socialize quietly
Leave the table and surrounding area clean and orderly
Return trays and utensils to wash area
